Air Purification and Filtration Systems in Dubai & UAE

Indoor air quality depends on more than temperature and humidity.

Dust, fine particles, odours and airborne contaminants can remain indoors even when the air-conditioning system is operating normally.

ONYX NOVA provides integrated air purification solutions. Core, Aero, PolarStar and Alpha combine three-stage filtration using Primary, HEPA and Activated Carbon filters with additional ionization technology. Aura is installed on the return-air side of the AC system and provides dedicated air purification before the air returns to the conditioning system.

Three-stage filtration

How air filtration works

ONYX NOVA Core, Aero, PolarStar and Alpha do more than perform their main climate-control function. Air also passes through three filtration stages.

  1. 01

    Primary filter

Captures larger dust and airborne particles and helps protect the following filtration stages.

  2. 02

    HEPA filter

Captures much finer airborne particles and helps improve indoor air cleanliness.

  3. 03

    Activated Carbon filter

Helps reduce odours and certain gaseous contaminants.

Air is not only treated for humidity or fresh-air conditions, but also filtered before being supplied to the space.

Integrated systems vs AC return-air purification

Two ways to purify indoor air

Integrated air purification

Humidity control, fresh-air treatment or heat recovery, together with Primary, HEPA and Activated Carbon filtration and an ionization module.

Integrated AC return-air purification

Aura is installed on the return-air side of the AC system and provides dedicated air purification before the air returns to the conditioning system.

Ionization technology

An additional air-treatment stage

Nano-water ionization provides an additional air-treatment stage in ONYX NOVA Core, Aero, PolarStar and Alpha systems.

The module takes moisture directly from the surrounding air, so no external water supply is required. These water-based ions carry active OH species.

Ionization complements the physical filtration stages. It does not replace Primary, HEPA or Activated Carbon filtration.

Nano-water ions vs conventional negative ions

Nano-water ion

  1. Active OH species surrounded by water molecules
  2. Odour molecule dissolves into the water layer
  3. Reaction with active OH species
  4. Odour component reduced

Conventional negative ion

  1. No surrounding water layer
  2. Less stable in air
  3. Can react more quickly with oxygen or nitrogen
  4. Reduced persistence
The water layer helps stabilise active OH species and allows them to interact with selected odour components and airborne contaminants.
