Ducted fresh-air treatment, air purification and dehumidification
ONYX PolarStar 70 is a ceiling-mounted ducted unit that combines filtered fresh-air treatment, indoor-air circulation and purification, a dedicated exhaust-air path for discharging indoor air outdoors, and automatically controlled dehumidification in a single machine. Air passes a primary filter and a high-efficiency HEPA filter before it is supplied to the property, and the dehumidification module engages automatically when indoor conditions call for moisture removal.
In automatic operation the unit switches between fresh-air mode, internal-circulation mode and internal-circulation mode with dehumidification according to indoor conditions. Air passes a primary filter and a high-efficiency HEPA filter before being supplied to the property; the dehumidification module engages when moisture removal is required, and condensate is removed by the integrated drainage lift pump. The unit also includes a dedicated exhaust-air path for discharging indoor air outdoors.

Installation architecture
Ceiling-mounted installation above a false ceiling, connected to Ø200 mm ducts, with a maintenance opening of at least 600 × 600 mm at the maintenance door. Installation is carried out by qualified technicians.
Most ONYX NOVA solutions are concealed ducted systems installed separately from the air-conditioning system. ONYX Zenith may also be integrated into an air-conditioning or wider HVAC system where the project design allows.
Operating states
- Fresh-air mode — outdoor air treated and supplied, dehumidification module not activated
- Internal-circulation mode — indoor air circulated and filtered, dehumidification module not activated
- Internal circulation with dehumidification — dehumidification module activated
- In automatic mode the unit switches between these states according to indoor conditions
Air paths

Installation requirements
- Ceiling-mounted installation by qualified technicians, anchored with expansion bolts and M10 screws and levelled with a spirit level
- At least 100 mm clearance above the unit and at least 60 mm between the underside of the unit and the finished ceiling
- Maintenance opening of not less than 600 × 600 mm on the maintenance-door side
- Connecting duct at the supply-air outlet of not less than 1 m
- No more than three bends per duct run, formed as radiused elbows rather than 90° bends
- Smooth, dust-free duct interiors and low-resistance grilles and louvres
- Rain covers with insect mesh at all outdoor terminations; outdoor duct sections insulated and sealed with aluminium tape
- The drain pipe must be insulated to prevent condensation
- Wiring and grounding to local construction standards, with a three-core flexible cable of at least 1.0 mm² cross-section
Maintenance
- Isolate the power supply before installation, maintenance or filter changes
- Primary filter cleaned every one to three months, more often in dusty conditions; replace it after roughly three cleanings
- Do not use a high-pressure water jet on the primary filter
- The high-efficiency HEPA filter cannot be washed; a service life not exceeding three months is recommended, and the new filter is fitted in the direction of the label arrow
- Check duct fittings, drainage connections and wiring periodically for looseness or damage
Important engineering limitations
- Not for installation in atmospheres containing acids, alkalis or organic solvents
- The unit must not be stored or transported tilted or inverted; allow it to stand for 2 hours before start-up
- PolarStar 70 is a dehumidification and air-treatment unit; it does not replace an air-conditioning system and is not a room-cooling appliance
