Shops and Showrooms

Stable humidity for sales floors, displays and storage areas.

What you are seeing

Excess humidity in shops and showrooms can cause condensation on glazing and display surfaces, musty odours and mould in storage rooms, fitting rooms and concealed areas. It may also affect sensitive merchandise and display materials, including clothing, leather, textiles, wood, artwork, packaging and premium interior finishes.

Why it happens

Every time an entrance opens, hot and humid outdoor air can enter the premises. Additional humidity may arrive through the building's fresh-air system, while air conditioning is often reduced outside trading hours. Large glazed façades, changing visitor levels and uneven air circulation can create different conditions across the sales floor, displays and storage areas. Cooling the space does not always provide consistent humidity control.

The ONYX NOVA approach

ONYX NOVA provides dedicated humidity control that operates alongside, but independently from, the air-conditioning system. Concealed ONYX Core units can automatically maintain more stable humidity across selected retail, showroom and storage zones through their own engineered return and supply air paths.

For larger or specialised spaces, a higher-capacity ONYX solution may be selected following an engineering assessment. Where improved air cleanliness is required, ONYX Aura can be installed at the return-air side of compatible air-conditioning equipment to provide active electrostatic purification.

The final solution is designed around entrance activity, trading hours, merchandise sensitivity, storage conditions, internal layout and the existing HVAC system.

Technical note: Equipment selection for this application is project-specific. It is never derived from floor area alone, and a residential Core model is not automatically appropriate for every property of this type.

Technical note: Final equipment selection and expected performance depend on site conditions, system design, outdoor-air conditions and professional assessment.
