Why duct sizing matters for a concealed dehumidifier
A concealed unit performs as designed only when the ductwork it is connected to allows the intended airflow.
Airflow is part of the specification
A dehumidification unit is rated at a nominal airflow. The duct system determines whether that airflow can actually be achieved once the unit is installed.
What undersized ducting causes
Restricted duct sizing raises static pressure, which can reduce airflow, affect performance and increase noise transmitted into the rooms served.
Design factors
Duct routes, lengths, bends, transitions, grille sizing and available ceiling void depth are all reviewed together with the unit selection, alongside drainage falls and access for service.
Coordination
On new construction and renovation projects, duct routing is coordinated with the MEP contractor and the interior design before ceilings close.
