What you are seeing

Excess humidity in warehouses can cause condensation on stored goods, packaging, shelving, metal surfaces and building structures. Over time, damp conditions may contribute to mould, corrosion, damaged cartons, labels and packaging, and deterioration of humidity-sensitive products such as furniture, textiles, electronics, documents and other stored materials.

Why it happens

Warehouse doors and loading bays frequently open to Dubai's hot and humid outdoor air. Large internal volumes, high ceilings, limited or intermittent cooling and uneven air circulation make humidity difficult to control throughout the space. Condensation may also form when humid air comes into contact with cooler goods, surfaces or air-conditioned storage zones.

The ONYX NOVA approach

ONYX NOVA begins with an assessment of the warehouse volume, outdoor-air infiltration, operating schedule, required storage conditions and sensitivity of the stored products. The space can then be divided into practical humidity-control zones, with equipment capacity and air distribution designed for each area.

Depending on the size and use of the facility, the solution may include concealed ONYX Core units for selected rooms or storage zones and higher-capacity ONYX dehumidification systems for larger warehouse areas. Treated air is distributed to reduce localised humid pockets and maintain more consistent conditions across the protected space.

Target humidity levels, equipment capacity and operating strategy are determined by the type of stored goods, door-opening frequency, ventilation, temperature conditions and the existing HVAC configuration.

Technical note: Warehouse and storage applications require a moisture-load assessment before any equipment is proposed. No humidity outcome is assured, and equipment selection is project-specific — it is never derived from floor area alone.
